In an effort to become a national leader in quality and to ensure our patients are engaged in their care, the centralized Primary Care Support (PCS) team was established to assist the clinic providers and staff with reminding patients of needed care for specific chronic diseases and preventative screenings. Through proactive management of these patients, we will be reducing the likelihood of them developing long term complications.
The CMA/RMA Primary Care Support Assistant is responsible for performing quality improvement tasks, including but not limited to, patient chart review, contacting patient to remind them of needed services, placing orders so patient can complete the needed test/screening, documentation in the electronic medical record, and scheduling of appointments.
1. High school diploma or equivalent and graduate of an approved school of Medical Assisting.
2. Current Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant. Acceptable credential includes Registered Medical Assistant (RMA through the AMT Organization only) and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
3. Previous healthcare experience.
4. Be available to work afternoon and evening hours.
5. Pleasant, outgoing personality.
6. Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy, ever-changing environment.
8. Ability to shift attention easily and quickly to meet patient needs.
9. Previous personal computer training/experience.
10. Excellent telephone skills/etiquette.
11. Fundamental desire and ability to provide exceptional customer service.
1. Experience in a primary care setting.
2. Experience with Epic.
3. Previous experience with Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel
4. Experience in quality improvement or process improvement.
